Wedding Website Course - 4 Weeks
Want to build a wedding website that feels true to you and your partner? Have a vision or aesthetic but feel limited by "plug & play" site builders? Ever been curious about learning to code?
What you should expect from the course 🌼
This will be a beginner course for anyone wanting a customized web presence for their big day. For those with no coding experience, expect this course to be challenging but fun. We start you off with some basics, but then dive right in working from a template codebase that we'll customize and add more functionality to.
🏆 The goal 🏆 at the end of the 4 weeks is a fully live website (a finished product you can be proud of, to share with your friends and family!) and hopefully a basic understanding of html + css (& some javascript).
What's included in the 4 week course 🖥️
- ✔ 2x a week live zoom sessions (w/recordings)
- ✔ A small cohort size to facilitate questions/discussions and opportunities to learn from each other
- ✔ Slack channel for questions and after class discussions
- ✔ Starter template codebase (a great starting point for future websites as well!)

Highlevel Course Outline/Overview 📝
- Week 1:- Day A: Intro to course & set up your development environment- Day B: Web development basics: HTML, CSS, little bit of JS
- Week 2:- Day A: Add personal assets (photos, fonts, etc) & make it look like your own- Day B: Set up RSVP api & functionality
- Week 3:- Day A: Customize!- Day B: Set up domain and deployment (& pw protect if needed)
- Week 4:- Day A: Customize!- Day B: Final Q&A, how to maintain, + class show and tell 👩💻
FAQs 🙋♀️
Nope! Although it won’t hurt if you’ve dabbled around with html and css before, the class is designed to have most of the heavy lifting done by the template so you can start in a fairly advanced spot and build a fully functioning site!
Not necessarily! It may be helpful to have a strong sense of style or thoughts on what you want your end site to look like though :) I won’t be focusing as much on design - more so giving you the tools to build out your design!
The languages we’ll be using are HTML, css, and Javascript. We’ll be building the website using Next.js (a React Javascript framework) and TailwindCSS.
Nah! Although we're going to be building a site that is structured for a wedding website, you could always fill it in with content that is non-wedding related! The one caveat there is that we will be connecting an api that is specific to RSVPs, and that is what the template codebase will be built with. But again you could pick a different more relevant API and I’d work with you to adjust the functions as needed :)
$500 - This includes 8 zoom sessions, a slack channel for questions/troubleshooting/brainstorming, and a template codebase that you can use to start any projects going forward as well!
