Form follows function
I won't compromise the function of a site for aesthetics. Although I'm all for making design choices because they look cool, if they undermine function it's a no go. My sites lean funky, but you'll never see me do things like mess with the native scroll speed or bombard a user with vertigo-inducing animations. 😵💫
"Milliseconds make millions"
The impact of a 0.1 second improvement in page speed metrics (without any additional UX redesigns) was studied across different verticals. That 1 ms increased lead generation sites' funnel progressions by 21.6%. Retail sites saw an 8.4% increase in conversion rate, and travel sites saw 10.1%. (Read more here.)
